Chad Kurmel, Golf Digest "Best In State" Instructor for 2019-2022
Certifications: Wright Balance Level 6, TPI-Level 3 Golf Fitness, TPI Level 2 Golf, AimPoint Express, FlightScope, KVEST and BodiTrak.
Chad is committed to helping golfers improve their game through basic instruction, utilizing proper equipment, a disciplined mental and emotional approach, course management and shot making skills. Golfers will receive valuable, specialized instruction in a customized personal golf program. Kurmel has been a PGA Professional for over 20 years. He played junior, collegiate and professional golf. Kurmel played in the PGA TOUR's 2007 Honda Classic and 2013 Puerto Rico Open , the 2007 Nationwide TOUR's Miccosukee Championship, the 2004, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2020 Professional National Championships. He won the South Florida PGA Section Championship in 2012. Kurmel is the Volunteer Assistant Golf Coach for the Michigan State Men's Golf Team. He is recognized by Golf Digest as a "Best In State" Instructor for 2019-2022.
Tom Kang, PGA Member
Tom is a graduate of Michigan State University and the San Diego Golf Academy. He is entering his 9th year as part of the Golf Center Staff, Fluent in Korean and a level 2 certified Jim Hardy Plane Truth instructor, Tom is a valuable addition to the instructional staff at the Spartan Golf Academy.
Alex Lorencz, PGA Member
Alex joined our instructional team in 2010. He graduated from Trine University where he was an Academic All-American and team captain of the men's golf team. Alex brings knowledge, enthusiasm, and competitive golf experience which are helping develop golfers of all skills levels. Since joining our team, he has given over 3,000 lessons. With his passion for the game, he is dedicated to the success of all of his students.
Zach played on the Men’s Golf team at Michigan State University. Prior to college, he went to St. John’s High School and graduated in 2017 where he won 2 team state championships, as well as an individual state championship in 2017. He was named Mr. Golf for the State of Michigan in 2017. He is currently majoring in Social Science Education with a minor in History Education and plans on becoming a high school teacher and golf coach after graduating. He has been playing the game of golf since the age of 10 and has learned valuable life lessons along the way that have benefited him on and off the course. His experience will help the junior golfer become better prepared for competitive golf.
