Instructional Staff

Bryan Harris, PGA Member
A graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University, Bryan brings a wealth of experience to our staff.  Bryan oversees daily golf operations and our event calendar.  Bryan studied under former PGA Tour player Mac O'grady, developing an understanding of the M.O.R.A.D investigation of the golf swing, which is the understanding of how biomechanics in the golf swing governs the golf ball variances of distance, direction, and trajectory.

Tom Kang, PGA Member
Tom is a graduate of Michigan State University and the San Diego Golf Academy. He is entering his 9th year as part of the Golf Center Staff, Fluent in Korean and a level 2 certified Jim Hardy Plane Truth instructor, Tom is a valuable addition to the instructional staff at the Golf Center.

Alex Lorencz, PGA Member
Alex joined our instructional team in 2010.  He graduated from Trine University where he was an Academic All-American and team captain of the men's golf team.  Alex brings knowledge, enthusiasm, and competitive golf experience which are helping develop golfers of all skills levels.  Since joining our team, he has given over 3,000 lessons.  With his passion for the game, he is dedicated to the success of all of his students.

Greg Webber, PGA Member
Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Greg served as the Director of Instruction at the Greg Webber Golf Academy at Hawk Hollow and Eagle Eye from 2004-2014.  Greg is one of the leading golf instructors in Mid-Michigan, having coached and developed many of the area's top high school and junior golfers. 

Chad Kurmel, Certified PGA Member (Golf Operations & Retail)
NASM-CPT-PES, TPI Certified-Level 3 Golf Fitness, AimPoint Express Certified, FlightScope Certified, KVEST Certified and Wright Balance Level 3 Certified. Certified PGA Professional Chad Kurmel is committed to helping golfers improve their game through basic instruction, physical conditioning, utilizing proper equipment, a disciplined mental and emotional approach, course management and shot making skills. By having one coach to address all of these critical areas, the golfer will receive valuable, specialized instruction in a customized personal golf and fitness program. Kurmel has been a PGA Professional for 17 years, and has been working in the golf industry for more than 20 years. He has played junior, collegiate and professional golf. Kurmel played in the PGA TOUR's 2007 Honda Classic and 2013 Puerto Rico Open , the 2007 Nationwide TOUR's Miccosukee Championship, the 2004, 2009, 2013 and 2015 Professional National Championships. He won the South Florida PGA Section Championship is 2012. He is also PGA Certified Professional in Golf Operations and Retail. As a Titleist Performance Institute Level 3 Certified Golf Fitness Professional, Chad is able to take clients through a detailed, physical assessment process that provides answers to why people have swing faults. After analyzing those results, the golfer will receive a custom designed, web-based training program that will help eliminate the physical limitations that lead to compensation in the golf swing. 

Tim Cornford, PGA Apprentice
A current student of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University, Tim has over 7 years of experience in the golf industry teaching instructional clinics and junior camps. He has had success playing in the Meijer Junior Tour, Top 50 Junior Tour, as well as the AJGA. Graduating from Saginaw Heritage High School, Tim played 4 years of varsity golf followed by a year of collegiate before entering the PGA PGM program at Ferris State. Tim will be a key member of the Erin Hills staff for the 2017 U.S Open where in 2015 he worked as an intern. His personal experiences and passion for the game make him a valuable asset for the Spartan Golf Academy
